Executive Dean
Mr. AHMED AL SOUFI
Mr. Ahmed Al Soufi serves as the Executive Dean of the British Applied College in Umm Al Quwain, where he provides strategic leadership and vision for the institution. With extensive experience in academic administration and higher education management, he is committed to advancing the college’s mission of delivering world-class applied education that meets both local and international standards.
Under his leadership, the college has focused on strengthening student services, expanding academic programs, and building strong partnerships with industry and community stakeholders. He believes in fostering a culture of innovation, professionalism, and continuous improvement, ensuring that students are well-prepared with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to succeed in today’s competitive world.
Mr. El-Sofi is passionate about empowering both faculty and students, creating an inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and personal growth. Through his guidance, the British Applied College continues to grow as a trusted educational institution and a leading contributor to the development of the UAE’s knowledge-based economy.

Mr. MARK LANGER
Mark Langer has over 40 years of management and teaching experience with the U.S. federal government, armed forces, and private industry. He has been in the United Arab Emirates since September 2005 and served as an instructor at Preston University-Ajman until February 2006. He joined American Educational Institutions LLC as the Executive Advisor and prepared all of the documents required by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) for the initial licensure and accreditation of what was to eventually become the City University College of Ajman. His academic experience includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the USA and UAE. Mark served as the Director of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) at CUCA from 2011 to 2017.In December 2017, Mark joined The University of Modern Sciences in Dubai as its Director of Institutional Effectiveness where he directly supported the University mission in capacities similar to those mentioned above. In June 2018, he began a one-year venture as a Higher Education Advisor, where he took part in several enhancement projects for UAE public and private colleges and universities.

Dr. SIVAKUMAR RAMALINGAM
Dr. Sivakumar Ramalingam is currently the Assistant Dean – Faculty Affairs at the British Applied College, UAE for more than 4 years. He was previously an Associate Professor at Addis Ababa Science and Technology, Ethiopia for more than 2 years and worked at different colleges/universities in India in different administration capacities for more than 20 years. He received his Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai, India in 2016. He has 9 journal articles and a conference publication. He has attracted research grants during his tenure at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University. He has attended over 25 workshops as a part of Continuous Professional Development. He has acted in the capacity of External Examiner, and Chief Examiner for various colleges in India. He is also a peer reviewer of research articles for Advances in Mechanical Engineering, Sage Publications, and Internal Journal of Engineering Research and Technology.

Dr. SANTHOSH JAYAGOPALAN
Dr. Santhosh J is currently working as a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at British Applied College, Umm Al Quwain, UAE. He obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering from K.S.R. College of Engineering, Anna University, in 2008, and a Master of Computer Science and Engineering from K.S.R. College of Engineering (Autonomous), Anna University, in 2010. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Information and Communication (CSE) from Anna University, Chennai, in 2018. He has over 12 years of experience in technical education and teaching. He is a reviewer for various international journals like Elsevier, Springer, etc. He is a life member of ISTE. His research interests are in the areas of Network Security, Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things, and Cloud Computing. He published more than 25 technical papers in reputed international journals and conferences. He has served on the technical program committee for many conferences. He has delivered various guest lectures at various institutions.

Dr. IMANE SOUSSI
Dr, Imen Soussi is an architect with a Ph.D. from the University of Carthage in Tunisia. Her master’s was about the science of shapes and Her thesis was about the Parametric Reverse engineering for the Imperial Roman baths. She started her teaching experience in 2014 in Tunisia and did some teaching internships at the university of Lyon France, She supervised several graduation projects for both architecture and interior design students. She worked on some research projects such as the Rehabilitation of the historical facades as the safeguarding of the medina of Sousse which was funded by the French Development Agency. She worked on different architectural projects from different scales and levels, she participated also in some workshops regarding construction and sustainable materials. She lately joined British Applied college in October 2020 as a faculty within the architecture and interior design department.

Dr. HOUSSEMEDDINE GOUTA
Dr. Houssemeddine Gouta was born in Sousse, Tunisia, in July 1985. He received his Engineering diploma and Master degree, respectively, in Electrical Engineering in 2009 and in Information Processing in 2010 from the National School of Engineer of Tunis, Tunisia (E.N.I.T). He obtained the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Engineering School of Monastir, Tunisia, in 2016. He contributed as reviewer in many high-valuated journals in Control Engineering field. His research interests are focused on nonlinear control, theoretical aspects of nonlinear observers design and control of nonlinear systems.

Dr. ALHADI KHOGALI ALTAYEB
Business Professor and HR Advisor with over 15 years of experience in business administration, organizational restructuring, training, learning, and talent development. Delivered 350+ consultancy projects in Agile/Competency-Based Training (AAT), SAT, ROI, LMS implementation, Business Analytics, Business Process Reengineering (BPR), and the application of AI and VR in learning and development. Holds a PhD in Management from the University of Birmingham and is affiliated with SHRM, ATD, and Training Industry (USA).
Previously served as Training Expert and HR Advisor in leading government, public, and private institutions, and held academic positions as Assistant and Associate Professor of Business Management. This combined professional and academic experience has contributed to transformative initiatives within Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, the UAE Ministry of Interior, and several national universities.

Dr. JAD BAWAB
Dr. Jad Bawab earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from UAE University in 2025. His research focuses on concrete technology, specializing in alternative construction materials and carbon capture and storage (CCS) techniques. He has authored several peer-reviewed articles in top-tier journals and presented his work at both local and international conferences. In 2023, he was granted a U.S. patent related to sustainable concrete innovation. Dr. Bawab has taught various engineering courses as a tutor at UAE University. He has also received several awards, including First Place at the Sharjah Sustainability Award (2025), First Place at the UAE Graduate Student Research Conference (2024), and the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Civil, Structural, and Transportation Engineering (ICCSTE) in 2024.

Mr. NEDAL LEHLOOH
Nedal Lehlooh is an aerospace and mechanical engineer with a strong academic and research background in propulsion systems and structural design. He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology. His postgraduate research focused on the “Optimal Utilisation of an Afterburner of a Reheated Turbojet Engine,” while his undergraduate thesis involved the “Design and Construction of an Airframe of a Mini Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).” Before joining British Applied College, Mr. Lehlooh served as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Khalifa University of Science and Technology, where he was actively involved in research on modular, block-based space structures, as well as providing instructional support in Aerospace Vehicle Design and Performance and CAD tools. His research interests include aerospace structural systems, modular space architecture, propulsion technologies, and computational methods in engineering. He is committed to advancing student learning and contributing to innovative engineering solutions through teaching and research.

Dr. RAGHAD SALIM ALSHALAB
Dr. Raghad Salim Alshalabi is currently a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering at British applied college, Umm Al Quain, UAE. She obtained her bachelor’s degree with a first-class, Master's and PhD's Degree in Civil Engineering (Environmental Engineering department) respectively in 2016, 2020, 2023 from Homs University, Syria. Her master's and doctoral theses explored the efficiency of nutrient removal from wastewater by integrating biological carrier into multi-stage biological treatment systems (Anaerobic-Anoxic-Oxic) and the use of cellulose shells as biological carriers in activated sludge aerobic tanks. Her works aims to enhance the efficiency of biological treatment systems, reduce environmental pollution, and utilizing natural and cost-effective materials for wastewater treatment. Through research and practical applications, she strives to improve water quality, optimize treatment processes, and contribute to the advancement of eco-friendly wastewater treatment technologies. She has also published multiple academic Journals such as Homs University, Baghdad Science and Engineering Sciences & Information Technology journals.

Mr. Matthew Foster
Mr. Matthew Foster brings over 20 years of international experience in higher education, teacher development, and leadership training. His career has focused on designing and delivering programmes that enhance teaching practice, strengthen educational leadership, and build institutional capacity across diverse contexts in the UAE, UK, China, Malaysia, and Latin America.
He has previously worked in national education reform projects, large-scale teacher and leadership development initiatives, and international school improvement programmes, collaborating with ministries of education, universities, and global education providers.
Matthew holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Manchester and professional qualifications in instructional design, quality assurance, and school inspection. His professional interests include educational leadership, curriculum and programme development, and capacity building, with a strong commitment to supporting educators and learners to achieve their potential.

Mr. JABER MOHAMMED
Jaber Mohammed Shafik is a passionate business lecturer with nearly five years of teaching experience across reputed institutions. Born and raised in the UAE, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Bolton, UK (2017), and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of the People, USA (2021).
Jaber has taught in diverse academic and professional environments, including his role as a Business Lecturer with BYJU’S, one of India’s largest online education institutions. His teaching expertise lies in Economics and Business Fundamentals, where he is recognized for his student-centered approach. By integrating interactive methods, real-world applications, and relatable examples, he makes complex topics engaging and relevant for learners from Gen Z and Gen Alpha.
Beyond academia, Jaber has held professional roles, including Operations Manager, Administrative Assistant, and Cooperative Executive, in government firms across the UAE, equipping him with valuable practical insights that enrich his lectures.

Mr. DEEPAK SATYANARAYANAN IRUKKULLAVAR
Mr. Deepak is presently working as a faculty in the Department of Civil Engineering, British Applied College, Umm al Quwain, UAE.
Deepak Satyanarayan Irukullawar holds a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering and Construction, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. His robust academic foundation equips him with a deep understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of the field.
Experience. With over 11 years of experience in the teaching industry, Deepak has dedicated his career to educating and mentoring future civil engineers. His extensive experience allows him to bridge the gap between academic concepts and real-world applications, ensuring his students receive a comprehensive education.
Deepak's research interests are focused on structural designing and sustainable construction. He is passionate about developing innovative solutions that promote sustainability within the construction industry, aiming to contribute to a more environmentally friendly future.

ANUSREE SANIL
Anusree K.S. is currently a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the British Applied College, Umm A Quwain. With seven years of experience as an Instructor in various prestigious engineering institutions, she brings extensive academic and industry knowledge to her role. Anusree holds a Master's degree in Engineering, specializing in Computer and Information Science from the Government Engineering College, Cherthala, and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Cochin University of Science and Technology. Anusree has also pursued numerous certifications and professional development programs to continually expand her expertise. Currently, she is advancing her research by pursuing a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence at Noorul Islam University.

Mr. MOHAMED ELGARHY
Mr. Mohamed El Garhy has been with the British Applied College since January 2020. He has over 11 years of higher education experience, teaching Architectural studies in both Egypt and the UAE. He completed his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from Kafr El Sheikh University, Egypt, in 2011. He then earned a Master of Science in Architectural Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt, In 2017. His thesis was entitled Polymers in the Design and Implementation of the Building Envelope. He also published a scientific paper on Polymers as Building Envelope Materials that same year. Mr. El Garhy is currently pursuing a PhD in Architectural Engineering through the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University.

FADILA ABDULLAH ALSARMANI
Ms. Fadila Alsarmani is a qualified English Language Lecturer as she has an MA in TESOL from the British University in Dubai (BUiD in association with The University of Birmingham). Furthermore, she has a Higher Diploma in Translation and Bachelor Degree in English Language & Literature from Aleppo University in Syria. Ms. Fadila is a skilled educationalist of rich diverse teaching experiences; she worked as a lecturer at City University Ajman where she taught TOEFL and EmSAT, as well as multi-tiered language and academic writing courses. Moreover, she worked as a teacher and team leader at MoE and private schools in the UAE, which enabled her to be acquainted with the Emirati and expatriate students and cope successfully with their academic needs. More importantly, Ms. Fadila is well-known in the local, regional and international professional development organizations since she is an active member at teachers' professional development entities, including TESOL Arabia, American International Toastmasters, Kuwait TEFL and the British Council.

Ms. Anjitha Mary Paul is currently a lecturer at the School of Computing, British Applied College, Umm Al Quwain. With over 11 years of diverse teaching experience in Computer Science, she has adeptly worked with British, Indian, and American curricula, showcasing her versatility and comprehensive understanding of various educational frameworks. She holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering and has further enriched her knowledge through multiple certificates and professional development courses. Her commitment to education has been recognized through the Best Teacher Award, which she received twice during her tenure as an assistant professor at Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology in India. Jency Varghese is currently a lecturer at the School of Computing, British Applied College, Umm Al Quwain. She is a passionate Computer Science instructor with three years of teaching experience at various engineering colleges. She holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and is currently specializing in Data Science and Application. She has attended various national and international conferences, enhancing her knowledge and professional affiliations in technology and published a paper in the International Journal of Computer Applications. Dedicated to inspiring and guiding students through the ever-evolving tech landscape, she focuses on equipping them with the practical skills and knowledge necessary for success in data-driven environments. ESRAA ALQASMY
Esraa Alqasmy is a PhD student at Damascus University in the Department of Information Technology Engineering, specializing in Operating Systems and Networks. She completed her Master’s degree at Damascus University in the same department. With over seven years of teaching experience, Esraa has taught at various institutions, including Damascus University, the European University (AIU), and the Syrian Virtual University, covering subjects such as Software Engineering, Operating Systems, and Networking.
In addition to her academic career, Esraa has over seven years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer. She also served as the Head of the Network and Systems Department at the Syrian Ministry of Finance for seven years, where she led initiatives in IT infrastructure and system management.

MANJUSHA MURALEEDHARAN
Ms. Manjusha Muraleedharan is a passionate and highly motivated Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at British Applied College, UAE. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering and Construction Management, and she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering. She is also certified in ‘Professional in Building Design (AutoCAD, ETABS, and Revit Architecture)’. With extensive experience in both industry and academia, Ms. Manjusha has authored multiple publications and conferences. Her research interests include Geopolymer composites, Phase Change Materials in buildings, Textile-reinforced composites and Special types of concrete.

SAFNA NASIMUDEEN
Safna Nasimudeen is currently employed by British Applied College in Umm Al Quwain, United Arab Emirates, as a Lecturer in the Department of Computing. She graduated from Kerala University with a BTech in Information Technology and Anna University with an MTech in Computer Science and Engineering. Through multiple research paper presentations at national and international conferences on the subject of wireless sensor networks and network security, she has actively contributed to the computer science field. As evidence of her dedication to expanding our understanding of network security, she has produced works on the subject of sensor-based protocol design in wireless sensor networks. She has more than seven years of experience teaching, and she has served as a computing faculty member at several institutions.

NOUR SAYED
Nour Sayed Ahmad is currently a Lecturer and Researcher at INP/ENSEEIHT, Toulouse, teaching mathematics, programming, networking, digital electronics, and communication systems. Holds a Master’s degree in Satellite Communication Systems from INP/ENSEEIHT and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Communication Network Engineering from the Lebanese University. Professional experience includes research on hybrid satellite–terrestrial IoT networks, development of embedded and programmable acquisition systems, and network optimization with Nokia. Areas of expertise span computer networks, programming, embedded systems, and telecommunications, with contributions presented at academic conferences.

Mr. DINESH BALAJI
Mr. Dinesh Balaji is presently working as a Library Learning Manager at British Applied College, Umm Al Quwain. He obtained a master's degree in MLIS from the University of Madras, India, in 2012. He has over 11 years of professional experience in this field. He is interested in library administration & management, digital libraries, library automation,library services, etc. Previously he worked at the Institute of Management Technology—IMT Academic City, Dubai. He worked at many reputed institutions like SRM University in 2012. Followed by Vels Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies during 2014 - 2021.

Dr. KHOULOUD SAFI
Dr. Khouloud Safi Eljil is a computer scientist with over nine years of teaching and research experience in France, the UAE, and Tunisia. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université Paris Cité, France, where her research focused on machine learning, natural language processing, and large language models applied to blockchain and sentiment analysis. She also earned a Master’s in Computer Engineering from the American University of Sharjah, where she applied machine learning to medical data, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Ajman University, graduating with honors. Dr. Eljil has authored and co-authored several publications, presented at international conferences, and participated in innovation-driven programs such as the UAEU SIP Accelerator and Dubai Start-up Weekend.
