BACU's Community Outreach & School Contests Goals

Develop a solid network within the community by taking an active part at various exhibitions, summits and conferences.

Foster relationships with the Ministry of Education, federal universities, municipalities, local community centers, and key stakeholders within private and government schools.

Plan and organize outreach events and initiatives to be hosted inside and outside BACU in order to bring the campus and community together.

Design volunteering and community-based learning opportunities , school contests for students that promote meaningful community involvement, embrace the rich diversity of the UAE, and cultivate ethical and inclusive leadership.

Our young programmers at the UAQ Coder

As part of a shared vision to empower the youth of Umm Al Quwain with future-ready skills, a collaborative initiative titled "UAQ-Coder" was launched. This summer coding program is designed for school students aged 10 to 14 and is a joint effort between UAQ Smart, British Applied College, and the globally recognized platform Code.org.
UAQ-Coder is a two-week summer program that started on July 15 and runs until the end of July. It introduces students to the fundamentals of computer programming using age-appropriate software and content. The program aims to spark creativity, and build a strong foundation in digital literacy — essential skills for success in an increasingly digital world.

Graphic Design Workshop for Young Creatives

As part of our ongoing commitment to community engagement and youth empowerment, British Applied College has partnered with the Umm Al Quwain Cultural Centre to deliver an exciting 8-day Graphic Design Workshop tailored for children aged 10 to 14.

The workshop kicked off on July 9, 2025, with a vibrant and energetic first session focused on Introduction to Graphic Design. Despite the language differences—our instructor speaking English and our young participants speaking Arabic—the atmosphere was filled with creativity, curiosity, and smiles. Through hands-on activities and interactive visuals, the children began exploring the world of visual communication and digital design.
